About Us

Meru Institute Of Business Studies (MIBS College) is a college of Entrepreneurship. We are the leading college focusing on producing problem solvers, innovators and job creators. We train our students to look at every challenge as an opportunity to provide a solution hence create wealth. We also act as a link between our students who have ideas and investors ready to fund their projects. This is our main purpose and we target to raise over 10,000 job creators in the next 5 years.

To live our purpose, we have set aside one day in a week [Friday] to learn the common unit of entrepreneurship and share business ideas. We also hold business ideas challenge every month in order to polish up the students’ ideas before introducing them to investors for partnerships. Together with HODs and all staffs, we hold hands to ensure that each and every department sharpens its students to shine during the challenge besides the normal lectures.

We also believe in God given talents as an avenue to create wealth. We encourage our students to focus on their talents and realize that they can build their future on these talents. To Nurture and improve talents, we train various talents for free and hold talent show programs every semester to allow students showcase their talents to fellow students and other partners who are interested to nurture talents. We reward the best in every category and the most outstanding ones, get opportunity to be sponsored by the college in collaboration with other partners.

We train both full courses and short courses. Our short courses are designed to impart skills necessary to solve local problems which includes CCTV installations, Mobile phone repair, Sign Language, House managers, Baking, among others. Our full courses are in Business and Technical categories.

MIBS College (Meru Institute of Business Studies) is a fully registered private college by TVETA and an exam center for KNEC, JP among other exam bodies. We have a well-organized management structure that ensures that the college operates within the standard procedures and that every student receives quality learning.

Board of Directors

Meru Institute of Business Studies (MIBS College) strategic and highest leadership is Board of Directors. The college has attracted seasoned directors who are committed and have greatest interest of the college at heart. The members of the board are highly vetted to determine their integrity, track record and commitment to the college mission, vision and objectives.

This Board has provided leadership that has seen the college grow to be the most preferred college in the region. The board ensures that the college is run according to the strategic plan and within the set rules and regulations both internally and externally in the interest of all stakeholders. The Chairman is selected by members of the board and the secretary to the board is the College CEO & Managing Director.

Message from the Board Chairman.

On behalf of the MIBS college Board of Directors, I wish to welcome you to our college. As a board we are set to lead and ensure that MIBS college rises to be the most preferred entrepreneurship college in Africa. Our strategy, mission and vision focus on growing employer minded graduates who sees every problem as an opportunity to innovate and provide a solution to the problem. We aim to be the link between the problem solvers and investors in the region where ideas are generated in our college and investors invests in these ideas to provide solutions. To achieve these objectives, the board has worked very strategically to provide an enabling environment of physical structures, equipment’s, qualified members of staff and all other necessary amenities.

The Board has ensured that the top management and all staff members are highly vetted to ensure that all of them are qualified, able to understand, own, ready to partner and work towards college mission and vision.

Our Secretary to the board and the College C.E.O is not only qualified, but also experienced educationist and a marketer who is able to implement strategic policies and plans set by the board. As a board we will ensure that the college runs within the set rules and regulations by TVETA, government of Kenya and according to international standards of corporate governance.

Principal Message.

On behalf of Meru Institute (MIBS College) Board of Directors, Management and the entire MIBS fraternity, I take this opportunity to welcome you to our institution. Additionally, I welcome you to this MIBS website platform which facilitates communication, sharing of information, knowledge and entrepreneurship skills within the college and with all our stakeholders. I thank you more sincerely for taking time to visit our website and share in our vision and purpose. As you will find out, MIBS College is a unique and a truly inspiring place to be where you will be part of a team of creative, enthusiastic and passionate problem solvers and job creators within and outside our country. The registration and licencing of our college was approved by the Ministry of education under TVETA Board according to section 20(1) of the TVET Act, 2013 with Ref: TVETA/ASS/7/158/M(3). In addition, we are fully registered exam center with Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) Ref: KNEC/GEN/EA/B&T/BE/BCC/03/19/017. The college is located in Meru Makutano, above co-operative bank, along Meru-Maua road. At MIBS College, we specialize in entrepreneurship training with main focus of producing employers and problem solvers. We apply various ways to achieve our objective such as offering short, critical skills; mobile phone repair, CCTV installation, computer repair & maintenance, electrical & electronic installations, interior design, catering, photography & video editing among many more. Currently, we have ten schools; School of Business, School of ICT, School of Education & Social Sciences, School of Beauty & Hairdressing, School of Catering & Hotel Management, School of Journalism, School of Fashion Design, School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, School of Agricultural Entrepreneurship and Short Courses. Further, the college continually reviews its curricula to ensure that they are line with global market needs. We have advanced our website by providing a portal, where students and staffs can access the departmental information, course outlines and revision materials. In addition, we have made the process of job application and partnership engagement easier through careers and partner pages respectively. Our ICT gurus are keeping constant updates and improvement of our web content in order to ensure that you get accurate information.
